Robert Vince knows a thing or to about making movies about adorable dogs doing extraordinary things. Starting with, “Air Bud,” the movie about the basketball playing Golden Retriever, Vince has gone on to create a whole library of dog-centric, family films. His latest, Russell Madness, out today via Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Air Bud Entertainment, is about a Jack Russell Terrier who becomes a wrestling superstar. For Vince, the most important elements to his movies are a strong theme and the funny factor. “The need for kids and animals to be part of a real family is so important,” said Vince, Russell Madness, not only highlights the importance of family, but also, especially for animals, the importance of adoption and the need to find homes for the many, many animals out there desperate for that forever home. The comedy elements in, Russell Madness, are plentiful too, and kids are sure to get a kick out of seeing, real life wrestling star, John Hennigan, as “The Hammer,” take on the pint sized Russell in the wrestling ring. Vince said, “A large man and a small dog wrestling is pure comedy.” It was no small feat to make these scenes happen either according to Vince, “it’s tricky to pull that off in a comical way, that still allowed the audience to suspend belief. “ The end results are sure to entertain the young and young at heart. Of course, one can’t help but wonder why Vince, has made a career for himself out of talking animal films but Vince put it simply, “It’s really about making family movies., and pets are the most important family member, at least in my family.” He went on to say, “The connection between man and man’s best friend is undeniable. They are always happy to see you and you them. It’s a powerful connection.” Vince, is currently a pet parent to one of the dogs that he worked with on one of his recent “Buddies” movies. He took the little puppy home after falling in love with it while filming. Russell Madness, stars John Ratzenberger Fred Willard, David Milchard, Mason Vale Cotton, McKenna Grace and John Hennigan along with the voices of talking animal stars Will Sasso and Sean Giambrone. "Russell Madness, " starring an adorable Jack Russell Terrier, will debut in select theaters on February 21, 2015 as part of the special Fandago Family Screening Series before Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment releases the film later this spring. Check out the official trailer! And be sure to catch the film this spring! By: Staff Writer If the chatter on Twitter is any indication, NBC’s Peter Pan Live, was definitely popular TV viewing for the night, and whether you loved or hated the performances of Allison Williams, as Peter Pan or Christopher Walken, as Captain Hook, one thing’s for sure the performance of Bowdie, as Nana, the Darling’s beloved dog, was a hit! Being a star of a live television musical is pretty major for a dog that, according to Today.com, is a mixed poodle breed, rescue from Utah. The very nature of live means anything can happen, so you have to hand it to the producers who upped the risk factor by adding the very unpredictable talents of a animal star to the show. However, rest assured there were many hands working hard to insure everything, including the tail wags, went off without a hitch. Bowdie, just like every other cast member, went through months of preparation before his star making performance tonight. William Berloni, an animal trainer, with more than 35 years of experience rescuing animals and turning them into Broadway stage performers, is the man responsible for making sure Bowdie hit his marks and didn’t mark the stage! While Bowdie’s performance will be remembered as scene stealing, especially for those of us who love dogs, rumor has it, that Lexi, the understudy, was ready and waiting in the wings should stage fright have set in. Perhaps this very fact will keep Bowdie's head from swelling to big as lets face it, as any actor knows, everybody is replaceable. While Lexi, may be waiting in the wings tonight the applause go to Bowdie! Job well done! 11/25/2014 0 Comments Michael buble, luisana lopilato, dog for dog and petsmart canada launch special buy one, give one, get one to kick off the holiday season of givingBy: Staff Writer Just in time for the Holidays, Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato announce the launch of DOG for DOG's week-long initiative to help dogs in need.
